Choosing The Right Location
The Outdoor Sauna is defined as “outdoor” because the walls are thermally insulated and therefore have thicker walls, for colder climates.
While the Sanctuary Outdoor saunas are designed to be placed outdoors, we highly recommend choosing a location without excessive exposure to rain, or that is prone to flooding. The Outdoor Saunas is splash resistant, but not weatherproof.
Please note: By International Standards, the Outdoor Sauna has an IPX WATERPROOF RATING of 4 : “Protected from splashing water from any angle”.
Recommended Surfaces
The Sanctuary Outdoor Saunas must be installed on a firm surface that can support the weight, (with or without people in it).
A deck is the ideal surface, as the gaps between the decking slats allow for any moisture to escape, should any rain hit the surface of the deck.
Similarly, if placing the Outdoor Sauna onto a concrete slab, please make sure there is sufficient drainage to ensure any moisture drains away from under the floor.
DO NOT position the sauna directly onto grass or any other soft surface where the sauna can settle, and compromise the integrity of the structure.
Installation Requirements
For potential access to the electrics in the roof, allow a minimum 50cm clearance on each side and above the roof of your sauna. Please also remember that you have to access the front of the sauna to get in.
Ensure easy access to the powerpoint at all times, to allow for hard reset. We recommend installing the powerpoint at the back left of the sauna (when facing it).
Note: it is possible to install your sauna in smaller spaces, however this may impede access for repairs and maintenance. Your sauna warranty does not cover costs related to gaining access for repairs. Please consult the Clearlight team if you have any specific questions re space allowance.
Protection Of The Outdoor Sauna
A sauna cover will be provided free of charge upon every outdoor sauna purchase and the use of the sauna cover is mandatory for all the outdoor saunas to maintain the warranty. For the warranty to be valid, the following condition must be met:
1. Your Jacuzzi® / Clearlight® Outdoor Sauna is protected at all times by a selected Jacuzzi® / Clearlight® Waterproof Sauna Cover or Clearlight Infrared® Waterproof Sauna Cover.
If you choose to not use the provided Outdoor cover, your sauna must be housed in a weatherproof structure.
Drainage Requirements
The sauna must not be placed on any surface that allows for moisture to collect underneath. Select a surface that allows water to drain away to avoid moisture building up and “wicking” up into the sauna from underneath the flooring.
The Outdoor Sauna Roof
The roof cap system is designed to allow water to run off the back of the roof. If the roof is not placed correctly, the water will pool on the roof and may cause damage to the sauna.
The Anchoring Kit
Your sauna comes with an anchoring kit that gives added protection for the sauna roof in extremely windy weather conditions. This diagram will help you to decide how to fix the anchoring kit to the area which you will be preparing.
Your Safety Matters To Us
The 5-person Outdoor Sauna has a combined weight of 476kg and 2-person Outdoor Sauna has a combined weight of 350kg. Therefore, as a safety precaution, 3-4 persons may be required for lifting, holding and general installation.
Ergonomic Backrest
The movable backrest offers extra back support and comfort during your sauna session.
Designed by Dr. Raleigh Duncan, a Chiropractic Physician and our Founder, this is another added level of comfort to the experience.
Halotherapy / Salt Therapy

Offering the maximum benefits of Red Light Therapy for the quickest session times and furthest distance, inside your sauna.
What heater technology is used in this Jacuzzi® Sauna?
All Sanctuary Jacuzzi® Full Spectrum Outdoor Infrared Saunas come with our unique True Wave II Carbon and Ceramic Heater Technology. They are low-EMF heaters that produce the majority of the infrared spectrum around the 9.4 microns, which is the ideal wavelength in the far infrared spectrum.
In addition to those heaters, the Sanctuary Range comes with 4x 500 Watts True Full Spectrum Infrared heaters on either side of the door (2x 500W heaters for the Outdoor-2 Saunas). The Sanctuary Full Spectrum Outdoor Saunas therefore combine all three types of infrared (near, middle and far infrared), really making this model superior to other products on the market.
Will I have infrared heaters all around me in my Jacuzzi® Infrared sauna for best use?
Absolutely. You Jacuzzi® Sanctuary Full Spectrum Outdoor Infrared Sauna is equipped with our True Wave II Heaters all around you. You have heaters in the back wall, side walls, leg area and in the floor. You also have 4x 500 Watts (2x for the 2-Person Unit) powerful Full Spectrum Infrared Heaters that emit to your core. You’re literally surrounded in infrared heat making this your own true Sanctuary at home.
What’s the EMF in this Jacuzzi® Infrared Sauna?
EMF and ELF are important to us. 10 years ago we started producing heaters with the lowest possible EMF levels. Over time we’ve pioneered other technologies in this field and we’re proud to say that the EMF (and ELF levels) are perhaps the lowest on the market. When measuring directly on the heater the highest EMF level we could measure was 1.5 mG, which is by far below the WHO threshold of concern (3 mG). Besides the invention of our True Wave II heater technology, we also use metal conduit wiring, run several grounding wires, and have designed the sauna in a way that the exposure to both EMF and ELF is the absolute minimum possible. When measuring on the two powerful Full Spectrum Infrared Heaters in the front, you will measure a maximum of up to 7-8mG. When moving away only 10cm the levels drop to 0.
As EMF reduces with distance, where you are sitting there is no EMF measurable.
How long does installation of my Jacuzzi® Infrared Sauna take? Can I do it myself?
For the 2-Person Full Spectrum Outdoor Infrared Sauna will take 2-3h to install. You only need a screwdriver and 2-3 strong helpers to install it. The Outdoor 5-Personen Unit comes with installation included.
How much does it cost me running my Jacuzzi® Infrared Sauna?
For the 2-person saunas it will cost you a maximum of $ 0.40 for running the sauna for an hour. If you used it four times a week this will cost you less than AUD 5 for the entire month.
So for the 5-Person Outdoor Sauna will cost you approx. $ 0.70 running the sauna for an hour.
What are the ventilation requirements for my Jacuzzi® Infrared Sauna? What plug do I need to run it?
There are no ventilation requirements necessary. Infrared saunas give off dry-heat without any moisture. The required plugs are as follows:
2-Person Sanctuary Full Spectrum Outdoor Sauna: 15 Amp Power Outlet
5-Person Sanctuary Full Spectrum Outdoor Sauna: 20 Amp Power Outlet
Important: When purchasing add-ons to your sauna please check possible changes for electricity requirements.
What’s the warranty on my Jacuzzi® Infrared Outdoor Sauna?
It’s a lifetime for interior components and 5-years for the exterior of the cabin. For this warranty to be valid the following condition must be met. 1. Your Jacuzzi® Outdoor Sauna is protected at all times by a selected Jacuzzi® Waterproof Sauna Cover or Clearlight Infrared® Waterproof Sauna Cover.
What type of wood is used for my Jacuzzi® Infrared Sauna?
The inside of the Jacuzzi® Sanctuary Full Spectrum Outdoor Infrared Saunas are made from eco-certified (FSC-certified) Canadian Cedar wood. We use the highest quality wood (Grade A), and colour match the wood prior to the manufacturing process. This ensures best quality and superior aesthetics for all Sanctuary Full Spectrum Infrared Saunas.
The exterior cabin is made from cedartek (engineered wood) to ensure a good durability and high quality.
